Examples: blood or urine tests for cholesterol/glucose • pregnancy tests • biopsies for cancer detection • antibody screening • drug/alcohol tests • employment/insurance physicals. Requires professional judgment by qualified person (physician, veterinarian, scientist, trained technician).
Note: This is an exemption provision. Shippers must make the professional judgment determination before classifying as exempt.

Proper shipping name
Must be marked adjacent to UN3373 mark (minimum 6 mm letters)
Outer packaging
Minimum one surface 100 mm × 100 mm. Maximum 4 L for liquids, 4 kg for solids.
Documentation
Shipper name, address, telephone required on package. No formal DGD required.
Air Transport
Allowed on passenger and cargo aircraft (no quantity limit for passenger)
